He liked the entire series very much and when he read the last book he was trying to not finish it because then he'd be sad there's no more. There are some fine secondary characters as well, including some from the first books. A book written from a child's point of view, full of true childhood experiences, and enchanting reading for anyone who ever was a child. This aspect forms only a small part of the novel as a whole. Each major character gets one viewpoint chapter, and Frumkin lets us into the minds of each of her varied cast of characters, even the most despicable ones, and shows us the details of their lives, hopes, and fears. The work, like ancient Gaul, is divided into three parts.
